Senior Systems Engineer

The Company
itSynergy is the market leader in providing technology consulting services to small and medium businesses who have a high reliance on their technology systems. Our customers are located throughout the Valley of the Sun and generally have between 5 and 500 PCs.

The company is a Microsoft® Partner with multiple competencies. The company is privately held, young, fast-paced and aggressive. It is headquartered in Phoenix. The company was established in 1997 and prides itself on its level of expertise, process driven service delivery, and extremely high customer satisfaction.

The Position
The Senior Systems Engineer position functions both onsite and remotely as the critical technical contact with customers and coworkers—the last line of defense. No two days are the same and can involve anything from helping an end user with a desktop issue to managing and executing a large infrastructure migration project over several weeks. The position at times requires independence as the problems nobody else can figure out fall to this position, but also requires the ability to effectively lead a project team, and manage all phases of a technical project from cradle to grave.

The Person
You have five plus years of directly related experience, preferably in a consulting environment, with proven technical competence as confirmed by industry certification and/or experience. A bachelor's degree in engineering or MCITP certification is a big plus. You must be self-motivated, embrace difficult tasks and challenges, and cannot ever leave a technical issue unsolved. You must possess BRILLIANT troubleshooting skills, and if you don't know the answer, need to be able to figure it out fast using any resources at your disposal. You look forward to not having to work in the same environment day in and day out. You are willing to work occasional nights and weekends for large infrastructure projects.

You are an EXPERT in the following:

  • All Microsoft desktop and server platforms
  • Hyper-V
  • Terminal Services
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003-2010
  • DEEP understanding of networking including hardware, especially Cisco and SonicWALL

The following experience is a plus:

  • VMWare
  • Citrix
  • Mac OSX
  • SAN
  • Experience working in midsized environments with in house IT resources
  • Connectwise
  • Kaseya

You will be expected to maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies.

The successful candidate must be a "hands-on" sort of person—someone who can "speak English" and effectively address technical issues with non-technical clients in a customer-friendly manner. You must also be able to interface with IT Directors and staff on a highly technical level in complex mid market environments.

Compensation
This is a full time (W-2) position with base pay starting between 65-80K annually, depending on experience. Once this position has reached full utilization, a solid candidate has an earning potential of more than 90K annually. Additional components include a full benefits package with 401(k), health, vision and dental insurance as well as mileage reimbursement, smart phone, continuing education program and paid vacation and sick time.

Confidentiality is assured. All discussions are confidential and exploratory.
