Coming to a Small– or Medium–Sized Business Near You: Microsoft's Wave of Innovation

itSynergy Poised to Upgrade Clients to the Next Generation of Business Software

(Phoenix, AZ – November 10, 2006) On November 30, significant upgrades to software targeted to small– and medium–sized businesses will be available to Microsoft's volume license customers. On that day, Phoenix-based itSynergy will be in the thick of implementing IT strategies featuring the latest offerings from the software giant for its clients. The upgraded software is part of Microsoft's Wave of Innovation, and includes Windows Vista, an upgrade to the Windows operating system; Exchange Server 2007 which manages company-wide email and collaboration; Office 2007, Microsoft's flagship suite of productivity applications; and Small Business Server 2003 R2 which offers small businesses capabilities that are on par with that of much larger companies. The products will be available to consumers worldwide in January 2007.

"The upgrades offer small– and medium–sized businesses significantly improved security, more intuitive maintenance, and interfaces that reflect the way that people actually work," said Michael Cocanower, president and CEO of itSynergy. "Small– and medium–sized businesses that implement the technology with their overall business strategies in mind will have a competitive advantage. When companies take a strategic approach to implementing new technologies, they have the opportunity to establish market leadership, and that is where itSynergy comes in."

Mr. Cocanower, a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for Small Business Server (SBS), is one of just thirty–five Microsoft partners with the MVP designation for SBS in the world and the only one in Arizona. Mr. Cocanower is a recognized subject matter expert in implementing technology solutions for small– and medium–sized businesses in the state, and has often been quoted in the technology press. His company became a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner in April 2006. Mr. Cocanower's status in Microsoft's partnership hierarchy gives him and itSynergy the opportunity to preview, use, and influence Microsoft technologies during their earliest phases of development. His status as one of 10 members in Microsoft's Channel Advisory Council for SBS grants him time with the global product group, which is involved in the development of Microsoft products.

This round of upgrades to Microsoft's line of business software has been touted as the most thoroughly tested software release in the company's history. According to Microsoft, some 3.5 million users downloaded Microsoft Office Beta 2.

"This is a great time for small– and medium–sized businesses," said Mr. Cocanower. "Applications like Small Business Server and Office 2007 level the playing field by giving those businesses tools that are as robust as those used by larger enterprises, but that are scaled and priced to meet smaller firms' needs."
